Grate Pizza, Mac, & More

Grate Pizza, Mac, & More is putting their sophisticated twist on comfort food. Grate approached the EIS design team with the concept of creating a place of gathering, describing their vision of the restaurant as simple, crave-able, rooted, sensorial, and social.

EIS took the concept and ran with it, building a brand that showcases Grate's Wisconsin roots and local sourcing. Design elements included Milwaukee's cream city brick, natural wood, and industrial textures representing Wisconsin's proud industrial history.

The design established the warm 'home' feel that the Grate owners desired. EIS designers also integrated a 'smart design' approach, including charging stations and USB ports on the tables and booths, as well as hooks for belongings.

As a company with a Wisconsin heritage, EIS was proud to bring Grate's design vision to life with locally manufactured seating and décor products. Grate won Restaurant Development + Design Magazine's Best New Concept Launch Award in the January/February 2019 issue – check it out!
