Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Elkay Interior Systems is on a journey to build and refine its diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy to shape our culture and inclusivity into our core values. Across EIS, we embrace diversity and strive to give everyone the same opportunities.

To help drive change, we have dedicated resources and leadership toward initiatives we believe diversify and strengthen our internal workforce. We are committed to doing our part to advance economic opportunity, overcome systematic barriers, and help reform underserved communities.

EIS North America has its own Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council (DEI Council). The council will work to create a welcoming, comfortable, and inclusive environment for all employees, train leaders to eradicate unconscious bias, advance diverse hiring and career growth, and measure and ensure equity within our culture.

EIS Cares - Our internal philanthropy program

Philanthropy

Our employees are at the heart of everything we do for our communities, and we care about improving the world around us. Together, we can significantly combat the issues we care about most.

EIS is proud to offer its employees two days/16 hours of paid volunteer time off. This paid time off allows staff to give back in and make a difference by supporting a nonprofit organization(s) of their choosing.

EIS Cares is our internal philanthropy program, committed to giving back to the global communities where we work, live, and play. Through EIS Cares, EIS and our employees support the efforts of charitable organizations that align with our business through generous contributions.

Supplier Diversity

It’s imperative to champion equality, diversity, and inclusion in every aspect of our business. To that extent, we are proud to launch our Supplier Diversity Program. We aim to make meaningful contributions to the economic growth of diverse companies and communities. Elkay Interior Systems values the innovation and fresh ideas diverse businesses bring to the table, and we're devoting resources that help drive their development and success.

EIS has partnered with the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and the Women's Business Development Center (WBDC) – the leading supplier diversity certification organization in the nation – as a corporate affiliate to strengthen our connections in the supplier diversity community. 

The Supplier Diversity Program will seek to measure and expand our existing supplier diversity reach and increase our book of business with certified Minority, Women, LGBTQ, Small, and Veteran Business Enterprises (MBE/WBE/LGBTQ/SBE/VBE) serving our industries.

Sustainability

We are committed to all environmental and product safety regulations, which ensure our products and processes minimize harm. We have begun to set our product and process sustainability thresholds through our sustainability roadmap and other internal initiatives. These allow EIS to benchmark and assess our progress toward a more equitable, healthy, and sustainable world.

A message from our CEO

If asked 30 different people to define corporate social responsibility, I am positive I would receive 30 different definitions. Although corporate social responsibility is far from an easy business concept to execute successfully, Elkay Interior Systems (EIS) has prided itself on the motto of "Simplifying the complicated" since 1979. Because we apply this concept in every area of the business, we look to simplify doing the right things and investing in "good." We are in the business of designing and building sustainable environments for the future.
